Dr. Deborah Caldwell, DVM

Dr. Caldwell has been a part of the Denver Community practicing Veterinary Medicine for over 30 years.  She started her career as a Veterinary Assistant, then graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1980 from CSU.  She has been the backbone of BVH ever since.  Aside from helping all of our client's dogs and cats, her real passion is working with her husband Dr. Charles Skow, DVM.  Together they raise & breed American Quarter Horses at their Horizon Quarter Horse Farm located northeast of Denver.  She has four Rottweilers named Josie, Ranger, Maggie and Gerty and three kitties nammed Puff, Panther and Tippy.

Dr. Lara Houston, VMD

Dr. Houston grew up in Pennsylvania and is a 2000 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine.  She has practiced in Florida, Pennsylvania, Delaware and here in Colorado for the past 6 years.  Dr. Houston was married in 2007.  She and her husband recently welcomed their first son, William, on Thanksgiving 2008.  In 2010, they welcomed their new daughter Elizabeth into their family. They also share their house with 2 dogs and 2 cats.  Dr. Houston loves to travel and has been to several countries in Europe as well as studied abroad in Madagascar and Ghana.  She joined our team in 2006 and bought the practice in 2010.

Dr. Aziz Chughtai, DVM, MPH 

Dr. Chughtai was born in Des Moines, Iowa but went to high school in New England, specifically the midcoast of Maine.  He continued his education near Boston where he earned both an undergraduate degree and a masters degree in public health.  After working as a researcher at Massachussetts General Hospital for a number of years he decided to follow his passion for animals and applied to veterinary school.  He is a 2009 graduate of the Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine.  He then completed a small animal rotating internship in Highlands Ranch, CO before coming to Bouton.  Dr. Chughtai came to Colorado with his girlfriend Stefanie who is also a veterinarian.  In his free time he enjoys exploring Colorado either on foot, with a paddle or on a bike. 

Monica Anthony, CVT

Monica has been with BVH since 1988.  She attended the University of Colorado, Denver before going to the Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology.  She lovingly refers to her home as the Anthony Ark.  Along with her husband, Jim, they care for their three children - Alexis, Joshua and Zeke.  They also have four dogs ; CJ, Gracie, Sierra and Chai and four cats - Lupe, Ginger, Rafael and Maya.  The Anthony's are in the process of building a straw bale house using solar and wind energy in the Canon City area.

Beth Reade, CVT

Beth is originally from Wilmington, Massachusetts.  She has a busy family consisting of two girls - Jessica & Sarah and her husband Lupe.  Beth spent four years in the Air Force as a Jet Engine Mechanic.  Several years were then devoted to her girls before she pursued a Veterinary Technology Degree.  Beth enjoys painting, gardening, hiking, photography and sight seeing.  She has two dogs - a Beagle named JT and a Lab Mix named Olive along with a cat named Boy.  Beth graduated from the Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology and joined our staff in 2000.

Sally Johnson, CVT

Sally is from Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  She moved to Denver in 1997 with her mother and sister.  She studied Journalism at CSU for two years, then earned an Associates degree at the Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in 2007.  She has recently adopted a Siamese mix named Meows who has become a loving part of her family. Her hobbies include volleyball, singing and traveling. She has been a part of the Bouton team since October of 2007.

Elina Miller, CVT

Elina came to Colorado from Milwaukee, WI in September of 2007 to attend the Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology. She has worked in the pet care industry for many years - first as a dog handler, and then worked her way up to Assistant Manager, at a doggy day care. Eventually, she found her calling in a veterinary hospital. She graduated from Bel-Rea in September of 2009 and joined the Bouton team shortly after. She has 2 dogs: Jake, a Boxer/Lab mix, and Wilson, a Lab/something-or-other mix, who made the journey from WI with her. Aside from her love of working in a veterinary hospital, she enjoys meditating, yoga, and exploring Colorado with her dogs. In addition to dog parks, hiking, and camping, she can also occasionally be found on mountain off-road trails.

Christine Martin, Veterinary Assistant

Christine is a Denver native and long term loyal BVH employee.  She enjoys reading & especially movies!  Mac is her English Bulldog & Darby is her kitty.  She is currently studying to be a Veterinarian at CSU, but comes back every holiday to help us out.  Her favorite color is red.  She joined our team in April 2004.

Rhonda Meredith

Rhonda is a Colorado native. She graduated from Lakewood High School and went on to get a Dental Assisting Degree at the Colorado College of Medical and Dental Assisting in Denver. In addition to working at Bouton, she works part time for an Orthodontist. Her and her husband have 3 adult children and 4 grandchildren. A black cat, Milagro, was rescued here at Bouton and became a part of the Meredith family that very same day. Rhonda enjoys traveling and scrapbooking. Her family’s plans are to go on a cruise every 2 or 3 years until she can’t travel anymore. She joined our team in 1998.  

Kristina Salazar

Kristina graduated from Bear Creek High School in 2008. She has 2 dogs with her family: a Sheltie, Jewels, and a Jack Russel, Homie. She also has her very own princess Chihuahua, Bella, who frequents Bouton to play. Kristina has 2 older brothers. Her interests include playing with, and taking her dogs on walks, and snowmobiling. She also enjoys arts and crafts, and reading Dave Pelzer books. She joined the Bouton team in 2007.
